Summary and Purpose

This report seeks authority to grant a long lease for land adjacent to No. 1 Oakley House, Long Gore, Godalming, as shown outlined on the plan. The lease would give Waverley a small capital sum. There are no environmental, “Opportunities for All”, Human Rights or Community Safety implications.

Introduction & Background

1. No. 1 Oakley House was subject to a long lease under the “Right to Buy” legislation in 1983. The current lessees have requested the addition to their lease of the land, as outlined in black on the annexed plan, for the purposes of garden land and a parking space. The proposed lease would expire on the same date as the existing lease of the property. There are no objections to this proposal.

Resource implications

2. Waverley will receive a small capital sum for the land. This will be a Housing Revenue Account capital receipt.

Recommendation

It is recommended that the land outlined in black on the attached plan be disposed of to the owners of No. 1 Oakley House, subject to a long lease for the purposes of domestic garden and parking only and on other terms and conditions to be negotiated with the Property and Development Manager (including payment of the Council's legal and surveying costs).
