1. Housing and Care Needs of Older People in Waverley

|2. Community Transport||The Council has agreed to make funding available for 2006/07 (for one year) in order to support the Waverley Hoppa community transport service as the Countryside Agency's revenue funding ceases at the end of March 2006. However, during the next year (2006/07) consideration will need to be given to the long-term financial issues for Hoppa for 2007/08 and beyond. Report received at June meeting. Further report later in 2006 to identify additional funding generated by Hoppa and likely level required from WBC.|

|4. Meals on Wheels||A special meeting was held in February 2006 in 'select committee mode' and evidence was received from organisations/representatives.|
The Sub-Committee are undertaking Meals on Wheels visits with WRVS and considering eligibility criteria used by other authorities. Report from the Sub-Committee received at June meeting. Final report updated September meeting on the interviews with SCC in August 2006.
|5. Community Partnership Fund||Review be undertaken of the existing criteria used for making grants from the Community Partnership Fund. Report received at September meeting. Outcome of review to November meeting.|
|6. Affordable Housing||Reports on different approaches for enabling and financing. Report to be considered early in 2007.|

|8. Community Safety||Briefing from Surrey Police held before March 2006 meeting. Community Safety Progress report deferred until after impact of new legislation is known early in the New Year.|
|9. Health Consultations||In the past the Committee has received a number of reports on health-related issues, particularly in relation to the reconfiguration of services and proposals to close hospital services.|
Most recently, the Surrey and Sussex Strategic Health Authority issued a discussion document entitled “Creating an NHS Fit for the Future” (May-July 2006). Officers responded to the discussion document.
It is understood that there will be a formal consultation document on making further changes to NHS services across Surrey and beyond, which will be issued in the autumn. Further information expected in December.
