General Principles of Good Practice
All information processed in Waverley, whether by computer on manually should follow the following general principles of good practice:-
Information must:
1. Be processed fairly and lawfully.
2. Be obtained specified and lawful purposes and shall only be used for the purposes for which it was obtained.
3. Be adequate, relevant and not excessive in relation to the purpose or purposes for which it is required.
4. Be accurate and kept up to date.
5. Be kept only for as long as is necessary.
6. Be kept secure and protected against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss or destruction or damage.
7. Not be transferred to a country or territory outside the European Economic Area unless that country or territory ensures an adequate level of protection.
