MINUTES of the EXTRAORDINARY MEETING of the WAVERLEY BOROUGH COUNCIL held in the Council Chamber, Council Offices, Godalming on 6th November 2001 at 6.30 p.m.

42. MINUTES

The Minutes of the Meeting of the Council held on 16th October 2001 were confirmed and signed. In connection therewith it was requested that, when voting takes place on of Notices of Motion in the future, voting figures should be included in the minutes. The Mayor agreed that this should be done. He also asked the officers to record for members the voting figures on Minute no. 41, the Notice of Motion from Mr J H Wootton, debated at the meeting on 16th October 2001. These were as follows:-

43. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

Apologies for absence were received from Mr D H Commaille, Mrs E M Cooper, Mr D H Darbishire, Mr M J Downes, Mrs P M Frost, Mr P B Isherwood, Mrs P Hibbert, Mrs M V M Hunt, Mr M W Norris, Mr R C Terry, Dr R A Thomas, Mr J W P Waters.

44. MAYOR’S ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Mayor conveyed his own and the Council's wishes for a speedy recovery to Mrs E M Cooper and to Mr H Denningberg. He reminded the Council that all were welcome to join him at Godalming's Remembrance Day Service on 11th November. He also reminded members of his Christmas Fair, which was to be held in the Parlour on Friday, 7th December at 11.00 a.m.

The Mayor congratulated the officers and all others involved, on the recent news that the Farmers' Market at Milford had won a South-East Region award for the best Farmers' Market 2001, made by the National Farmers’ Union. The Milford Market would now be in competition for a nationwide award.

45. DISCLOSURE OF PECUNIARY AND OTHER INTERESTS

There were no declarations made.

46. REPORT OF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

The report of the Executive Committee, which had met at 6.00 p.m on 6th November 2001, was circulated at the commencement of the meeting. It was moved by the Chairman of the Committee, duly seconded and

RESOLVED that the report of the Executive Committee be approved and the recommendation contained therein adopted.

The meeting concluded at 6.39 p.m.
