3. SPECIAL HEARING INTO ISSUES REGARDING MOBILE PHONE TECHNOLOGY

Current planning policy regarding mobile phone masts and the number and siting of telephone masts across the Borough; Findings of a recent survey of local residents on mobile phone usage in the Borough; Infrastructure that is likely to be required by the network suppliers in the future, including the targets and standards set by the Government; Recent developments in technology (including 3G technology); Likely future requirements of network suppliers; The perspective of local residents regarding the location of mobile phone masts; The main features of the Police communications system known as TETRA (terrestrial trunked radio); and Health and safety issues arising from mobile phone technology.
