1. ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN

To elect a Chairman of the Committee for the ensuing Council year.

2. ELECTION OF VICE-CHAIRMAN

To elect a Vice-Chairman of the Committee for the ensuing Council year.

3. MINUTES

To confirm the Minutes of the Meeting held on 10th March 2003 (to be laid on the table half an hour before the meeting).

4. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE AND SUBSTITUTIONS

To receive apologies for absence and to report any substitutions.

5. DISCLOSURE OF INTERESTS

To receive from Members, in relation to any items included on the agenda for this meeting, disclosure of any interests which are required to be disclosed by Section 94(1) of the Local Government Act 1972 and in accordance with the Waverley Code of Local Government Conduct.

6. QUESTIONS BY MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC

The Chairman to respond to any questions received from members of the public of which notice has been duly given in accordance with Procedure Rule 10.

It is recommended that the report be noted.

FORWARD WORK PROGRAMME

10. EXECUTIVE FOUR-MONTH ROLLING PROGRAMME

To receive the Four-Month Rolling Programme of key decisions, which is due to be considered by the Executive at its meeting on 3rd June 2003 attached at Appendix C. There will be an update following the meeting of the Executive.

11. COMMITTEE WORK PROGRAMME
[Wards Affected: N/A]
The Committee to receive, for information, a copy of the work programme which was considered at the last meeting of the Environment Overview and Scrutiny Committee in March 2003, attached at Appendix D. The Committee is now invited to decide upon its future work programme.

12. BEST VALUE AND LOCAL PERFORMANCE INDICATORS: REVIEW OF WAVERLEY’S PERFORMANCE IN 2002/03 AND PROPOSED TARGETS FOR 2004/05 AND 2005/06

To consider the report attached at Appendix E (to follow).

13. EXCLUSION OF PRESS AND PUBLIC

That, pursuant to Procedure Rule 20, and in accordance with Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following item on the grounds that it is likely, in view of the nature of the business to be transacted or the nature of the proceedings, that if members of the public were present during this item there would be disclosure to them of exempt information (as defined by Section 100I of the Act) of the description specified in the appropriate paragraph(s) of Part I of Schedule 12A to the Act (to be identified, as necessary, at the meeting).
