Your Committee has considered reports on this matter and has agreed that exemption from the requirement to display a private hire licence plate be granted to:-

B. APPLICATION FOR GAME DEALER’S LICENCE
[Wards Affected: All Farnham Wards]

Your Committee, at its meeting on 1st October, has given consideration to an application to obtain a licence to deal in game from Morgans of Farnham, a butcher’s shop in Ridgway Road, Farnham. It has agreed that a licence to deal in game be granted, subject to the premises being maintained at the relevant standards as required by the Food Hygiene Legislation and Codes of Practice, and to the satisfaction of the Environment Manager.

C. APPLICATION FOR STREET COLLECTION PERMIT – BROOKE HOSPITAL FOR ANIMALS
[Ward Affected: Haslemere South]

Your Committee, at its meeting on 30th July 2001, has considered a report giving details of an application for a street collection permit, the proceeds of which were intended to benefit the Brooke Hospital for Animals, a charity aiming to “improve the well-being of working equines overseas by providing free veterinary treatment and advice”. The organisation is a registered charity, Registration Number 207869. Your Committee agreed that a street collection permit be granted.

D. APPLICATIONS FOR ANNUAL PUBLIC ENTERTAINMENT LICENCES

D.1 Your Committee has considered applications for the renewal and grant of annual Public Entertainment Licences together with extensions in respect of the premises listed in the report at its meeting on 1st October 2001 and has granted the licences applied for, subject to appropriate conditions to meet the requirements of Waverley’s Regulations and General Conditions, including the maximum number of persons to be admitted, and to other conditions as set out in the report. Your Committee also approved the renewal of provisional grant of licences in respect of Bel and the Dragon, Godalming. The licences will be operative from 1st November 2001 to 31st October 2002.

D.2 Your Committee also deferred consideration of two applications until the next meeting which is due to take place on 22nd October 2001.

E. ACTION TAKEN SINCE LAST MEETING

Your Committee has noted the action taken by the Chief Executive since the June meeting, following consultation with the Chairman and Vice-Chairman.

F. APPLICATIONS FOR HACKNEY CARRIAGE/PRIVATE HIRE DRIVER’S LICENCES

Your Committee, at its meeting held on 30th July, has considered, with press and public excluded, applications for the grant of hackney carriage/private hire drivers’ licences. After giving full consideration to each application, including interviewing the applicants, your Committee has granted one licence and refused one application.

G. HACKNEY CARRIAGE/PRIVATE HIRE DRIVER – SPECIAL CONDITION ON LICENCE

Your Committee, at its meeting on 3rd September, considered whether it would wish to impose a condition on a hackney carriage/private hire driver’s licence whilst the applicant continues his full time driving occupation. Your Committee wished to impose the condition and agreed that officers be authorised to add the condition in the future for applicants whose circumstances raise similar concerns.
