APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO OPERATE A RIDING ESTABLISHMENT
[Ward Affected: Farnham Weybourne & Badshot Lea]
Waverley Borough Council is the Licensing Authority under the provisions of the Riding Establishments Acts 1964 and 1970. The purpose of the report at
Appendix A
is to determine an application for a licence to operate an establishment at Kiln Cottage Stables, Badshot Farm Lane, Badshot Lea, Farnham.
Recommendation
It is recommended that a temporary licence for six months be granted to Mrs Eleanor Hierons to operate a Riding Establishment in respect of premises at Kiln Cottage Stables, Badshot Farm Lane, Farnham, Surrey.
6.
ACTION TAKEN SINCE THE LAST MEETING
To note the following action taken by the Chief Executive since the last meeting of the Sub-Committee, following consultation with the Chairman and Vice-Chairman. The Register of Decisions will be laid on the table half an hour before the meeting.
That having regard to the information revealed in the Criminal Records Bureau check, a Private Hire Driver’s licence be granted to the applicant without the need to refer the application to the Licensing (General Purposes) Sub-Committee, the reason for this being that the applicant’s conduct does not indicate any need for further consideration of his juvenile and spent convictions.
7.

Recommendation
That pursuant to Procedure Rule 20 and in accordance with Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following items on the grounds that it is likely, in view of the nature of the business to be transacted or the nature of the proceedings, that if members of the public were present during the items, there would be disclosure to them of exempt information (as defined by Section 100I of the Act) of the description specified in paragraph 4 (Item 11) or the appropriate paragraph(s) of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act in respect of the following item:-
