At its meeting on 12th June 2001, the Executive Committee resolved that a Special Interest Group (SIG) of seven members be established with a view to making recommendations (to be considered first by the Environment Overview and Scrutiny Committee) to the Executive Committee in October 2001 about how the performance of the Council’s waste management services can be improved to meet the new targets on recycling levels. It was also resolved that the membership of the SIG be agreed by the Environment Portfolio Holder in consultation with group leaders. This report sets out the draft terms of reference and the proposed membership of the Waste Management Review Special Interest Group. There are no “Human Rights”, “Community Safety” or “Opportunities for All” implications arising from this report. There are no immediate resource implications arising from this report. However, the implementation of any options arising from the work carried out by the SIG may have significant financial implications and will need to be considered in due course as part of the Council’s budget setting process. |
