1. A letter has been received from Surrey County Council regarding the Waverley Partnership Area Transportation Committee (PAT) and a proposal for the County Council to reduce the voting membership of the Committee from 17 (9 County Councillors and 8 Waverley Councillors) to 15 (8 County Councillors and 7 Waverley). This is a consequence of the County Council’s new constitution coming into operation on 1st September and new Government regulations. There is a scheduled meeting of Waverley PAT on 4th September. One suggestion made for that meeting is that one of the existing Waverley members is designated as a non-voting observer.
2. The limited time available for this matter to be discussed fully with the Group Leaders and with the Chairman of the PAT, Mr Munro, has been a constraint in formulating a response but the officers will endeavour to report further at the meeting. Surrey County Council has apologised for the timing of the proposal and short notice.
