PART I - RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE COUNCIL
URGENT BUSINESS - PAY AWARD 2008
(Agenda Item 3; Appendix A.1)
196.1 The Executive considered the report on this matter, previously circulated to all members of the Council, updating them on the situation regarding the 2008 Pay Award and seeking formal agreement from the Employer to the proposed settlement.
196.2 The Executive accordingly
84. a settlement equivalent to 3% of the pay budget as set out in Appendix A.1, reached with the Staffside representatives, be approved in two stages with effect from 1st January 2008 and 1st July 2008 and that appropriate amounts be included within the 2008/2009 Revenue Estimates.
There are no background papers (as defined by Section 100D(5) of the Local Government Act 1972) relating to this report.
EXCLUSION OF PRESS AND PUBLIC
At 5.48 p.m. it was
RESOLVED that pursuant to Procedure Rule 20 and in accordance with Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following item on the grounds that it is likely, in view of the nature of the business to be transacted or the nature of the proceedings, that if members of the public were present during these items there would be disclosure to them of exempt information (as defined by Section 100I of the Act) of the description specified in paragraph 4 of the revised Part I of Schedule 12A to the Act, namely:-
Information relating to any consultations or negotiations, or contemplated consultations or negotiations, in connection with any labour relations matters arising between the authority or a Minister of the Crown and employees of, or office-holders under the authority.
