The Minutes of the Meeting held on 10th May 2005 were confirmed and signed.

7. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE AND SUBSTITUTIONS (Agenda Item 2)

Apologies for absence were received from Mr P Haveron, Mrs M V M Hunt, Mr P B Isherwood, Mrs J R Keen, Dr P Marriott and Mrs C E Savage. Mr M J Blower, Mrs C Cockburn, Mr R J Gates, and Mr R C Terry attended as substitutes.

9. CENTRAL AREA DEVELOPMENT CONTROL SUB-COMMITTEE (Appendix A)

RESOLVED that the reports on the following matters be noted:

(i) Applications for Planning Permission (Item A)
(ii) Planning Appeals (Item B)
(iii) Enforcement Action (Item C)

10. SOUTHERN AREA DEVELOPMENT CONTROL SUB-COMMITTEE (Appendix B)

A(a)(i) Erection of a new education building and facilities management building following demolition of ‘Little Ivies’ and existing facilities management building; construction of two tennis courts and works to existing sports field; alteration to access and parking; provision of a covered area to main building at St Ives School, Three Gates Lane, Haslemere

RESOLVED that subject to no objection from the Government Office of the South East (GOSE), planning permission for application WA05/0448 be GRANTED subject to the conditions set out in the agenda report.


[In accordance with the guidelines for public participation at meetings, the following representation was made in respect of application WA05/0448 and was duly considered before a decision was reached:

(ii) Erection of a building to provide 50 flats together with the erection of nine dwellings and associated works following demolition of The Beacon and certain outbuildings; change of use of Stronsay building to independent office use on land at The Beacon, Tilford Road, Hindhead

1. that the Committee considered the circumstances outlined in the officers’ report were sufficient to justify a committed sum towards affordable housing; and

2. that the Committee considered the matters discussed in the officers’ report and information received from objectors and the applicant and concluded that the planning arguments outlined in the report constituted special circumstances justifying a departure from the Development Plan.

A(a)(i) Outline application for the erection of a detached building to provide community village shop, post office, parish office, store and community room on land at Hollowdene Recreation Ground, Shortfield Common Road, Frensham

RESOLVED that subject to no objection from the Government Office of the South East (GOSE), outline planning permission be GRANTED in respect of application WA/2005/0499 subject to conditions set out in the agenda report.

(ii) Change of use and provision on interconnecting doorway to provide further floor space for beauty salon at 2 Cambridge Place (revision of WA/2004/2642) at 3 Cambridge Place, East Street, Farnham
